I went to high school with Rachel back in Perth! Shes about to pop , and she seems calm and prepared for her birth! Good luck Rach!!
Name- Rachel Seanor
Family members as of now- 2 (myself & my fiancé)
How far along are you right now?
37 weeks & 5 days
Do we no if its a boy or girl yet? And any name ideas (if its a secret so fine!)
Baby boy, and still haven’t decided on a name!!
Have you gone crazy shopping or waiting till the little one is here?
Beyond crazy shopping haha
Have you had to sacrifice anything during the pregnancy or have you missed anything in particular?
I haven’t really but it was different not having the energy to go out on new years & throughout summer etc to do the things I use to do. Oh and i do actually miss the occasional wine hehe
If you could teach your children one thing what would it be?
Hmm.. Manners would be up there along with a lot of other things
What has been the hardest thing about being pregnant?
Getting through this heat & being extremely uncomfortable
Do you think you have eaten healthier during this pregnancy than you normally would?
Definitely, I haven’t eaten this healthy in my whole life. I love it though, I feel a lot better inside and out
Any cravings?
At first it was oranges which helped the morning sickness, now it’s grapes & rockmelon
Did you do much research on birth and what your birth options are? Take any birth classes? Like what your rights are in the hospital
I attended an antinatal class where the midwife explained everything (if there is a midwife we don’t really like we have all right to tell someone and they will be removed from the room during the birth, things like that) & im lucky to have a friend who is training to be a midwife who will be there with me on the day and is always answering my questions.
How do you invision your birth? Anything your scared about, excited about?
I’d LOVE it if it was painless & quick but that’s not going to happen, I have been thinking lately what if my baby comes out not breathing or crying, or the umbilical cord is around his neck, I have been told this is normal to think like that and not too worry.
If you where stuck on a desert island whats 3 things you would bring with you
My partner (to catch the food, carry me if I’m tired and everything else haha)
Never ending bottles of water
Something for shade that wasn’t heavy..

Todays interview is with my favorite person ever! Cat Edward’s, met her in Sydney , We used to drink rose in the afternoons with Sonya! She found out she was pregnant 3 months after i did, she had a water birth in a birth centre in Perth where she welcomed Leo Jasper. (iylas future boyfriend). Hung out with this little family over the Aussie holidays last year and they are good value!!!She is a true earth nature mumma!
Name - Cat Edwards
Family members- Cat, Nick, Leo & Luna the dog
Describe your little family in 3 words- Eccentric, comical, chilled out.
Favorite baby products? (diapers, creams, lotions)
I don’t really use many products on Leo. When I need to use a nappy cream I use weleda calendula cream. I put the ‘emergency essence’ bush flower remedy drops in his bath, it’s a vibrational remedy made from Australian bush flowers that helps to settle him in the evenings. I also use sweet almond oil for baby massage.
What where you doing before you had baby?
I was studying nutritional medicine full time.
Have you had to sacrifice anything during the pregnancy or after-
Wine! Ha Ha, No, I don’t feel like I’ve had to sacrifice anything but I’ve had to make changes to my life. When I was pregnant I had to cut down on my social life a lot. I spent most of my time studying, watching movies, doing yoga & learning everything I possibly could about childbirth!! Now that I’ve had him I’m able to go out one night a week with nick & leave Leo with my sister. I catch up with friends during the day so I still have a pretty good social life. It’s hard sometimes when I can’t go out and do all the things I want to but on the other hand life as a mumma is so much fun & SO rewarding!
If you could teach your children one thing what would it be?
Be good to your mamma!
Being a busy mum I no we hardly have time to make a decent meal or for that matter eat a warm meal anymore, what are some of the things you snack on or make during the day when you have Leo
-Eggs! Either fried in coconut oil or hard-boiled
-We just got a vitamix so I can throw anything in there and it whips it into a delicious smoothie in like 15 seconds. Usually id go for a green veg one with celery, cucumber, green leafy’s, coriander, lemon, green apple & ginger.
-coconut milk smoothie with frozen blueberries
-macadamias, almonds, pecans…
How was your birth experience, most women have either a good story or not so good experience. I feel like woman should talk about it more freely. How was it for you
I had an amazing birth experience. Leo came 12 days late & weighed 9lbs 13! We had a beautiful calm water birth in a birth centre. It was the most empowering experience that has changed me forever! I feel I can get through anything after going through childbirth, women should really rule the world! I experienced the most euphoric natural high during the birth. I could not even explain how good it was!! Cant wait to do it all over again haha
Being a nutritionist do you find it hard to take that into the household or are you pretty good with getting all the required foods?
I’m pretty good with my diet. Breastfeeding means your still feeding two people & Leo takes a lot of my nutrients, so I need to make sure I’m getting everything we both need from my diet. I also make sure I’m eating the right foods to give me the energy that’s required to run around after a new baby!
Beauty routine- NIL!! 90 second shower, throw on some moisturiser & brush my hair!
If you where stuck on a desert island whats 3 things you would bring with you
I don’t really own anything that I couldn’t live without….so I guess I’d bring a straw to drink from the coconuts that will be growing on all the trees on the island, a hula skirt and a talking parrot incase there’s no one else to talk to.
Do you have any mommy advice for the women out there wanting to get pregnant or expecting
If your expecting, look after your self & enjoy the time you have by yourself because your never going to get that again! Well, not for a long time anyway. If your wanting to get pregnant- get ready for the most wonderful experiences of your life, its not always easy & often at times can be challenging, but hey, like I said before, women should rule the world! A woman can do ANYTHING if she focuses her mind!
Thanks Cat xxx

Name- Amber Galati
Family members- Frank, Myself, Oliver, Annabelle, Leo & Lyra the dogs
Describe your family in 3 words- relaxed, loving, curious
Favorite baby products or any life savings devices? (diapers, creams, lotions)-
I used cloth nappies (mcn’s) for both the kids, saved us lots of money and helps the environment out alot, plus they look adorable
What where you doing before you had babies ?
We had just moved back from over east and I was planning on starting a bachelor in education.
Have you had to sacrifice anything during the pregnancy or after-
After not so much, but I definitely sacrificed my body haha, poor thing.
If you could teach your children one thing what would it be?
Respect
Being a busy mum I no we hardly have time to make a decent meal or for that matter eat a warm meal anymore , what are some of the things you snack on or make during the day when you have the kids.
I find making fruit salads for the kids is the easiest healthiest thing, my kids don’t like nuts much as they get stuck in their teeth, but they love fruit! Quick, easy and it’s already cold haha
How was your birth experience, most women have either a good story or not so good experience. I feel like woman should talk about it more freely . How was it for you? Were the 2 very different in a way?
I loved giving birth! With Oliver, unfortunately I was induced as he went almost 11 days over and my fluid was getting low, I was induced with cervidil (which is a cream they insert) after the cream went in I had my first contraction and he was born 4 hours later at midnight exactly, the midwives had never delivered a baby born at 00:00. We had to choose if we wanted his birth date to be on the 24/5 or the 25/5. With Annabelle my waters broke and I went into labour spontaneously, in her due date too. Went to the hospital after dropping of Oliver, a midwife examined me at 6:40am and said I wasn’t even a centimeter dilated and my cervix wasn’t ripe, told me I should probably go home as it looked like it was going to be slow, for a second i thought she might be right, oliver was induced and I hadn’t even had my first contraction yet. I decided to follow my gut and said I didn’t want to leave. Annabelle was born just under 2 hours after at 9:35am. Both my labours were very fast and very intense. I never had a slow build up of contractions, the second i get used to managing them and I feel the pressure to push, it is very go, go ,go for me in labour. I never tore or anything. The next birth I have though it will be at home. Rockingham hospital is amazing and the midwives are gorgeous, I just want to lay in my own bed afterwards and cook a decent meal in my own kitchen.
Having 2 kids its must be full on, What do you and your husband do to keep up the spark?
It never really left, well it hasn’t yet so touch wood. Nothing has changed in our relationship even after marriage and house and kids and the stresses that come with that, I still love him just as much, if not a whole lot more and he loves me. We’ve still got the spark, thank goodness. We do go on date nights once in a blue though, or we will randomly do something special for one another, like cook dinner and eat together once the kids have gone to bed.
Do you have advise to mummys, whats essentials to keep you feeling normal?
Hmmmm haha, I go to the gym when I can, even if its not as often as I like. There is so much more happiness and joy to parenthood than long nights, messy nappies and tantrums. Frank takes the kids down to our farms every now and again, so I’m left at home for a few hours which is nice to just be in silence for a bit, even though I miss them like crazy after 5 minutes. Only advice is I guess, don’t swear the small stuff. The more love you give, the more you’ll get.
You recently traveled with the kids tell me about that? Must be so nice to show the kids different cultures!
It was amazing we went around France, all over Italy and Sicily then up through Switzerland, they both handled the 24 hour flights so well, and surprisingly had really minimal jet lag afterwards, fell straight back into their routines. Oliver loved saying all these news words in different languages, (Frank speaks italian at home so he knows italian quiet well, can only say a few words, but can understand heaps) so he loved it in Italy asking people questions and tasting all the different foods. Such a great experience. We want to go to Tokyo next then Africa.
Beauty routine..
Don’t have one haha, wash my face and if I’m going out I put some moisturizer and mascara on. I get my hair done probably every 6 months.
If you where stuck on a desert island whats 3 things you would bring with you.
If we’re talking to literally survive umm, a flint, a metal pot and a blanket haha so boring.
Do you have any advice for the women out there wanting to get pregnant or expecting?
I’ve heard if you over think ‘getting pregnant’ the stress is just going to work against you. There is so much to motherhood they don’t tell you in the books and every child is different. Don’t do what people tell you do to, do what works for you, your baby, your family and your situation
